The goal of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program is to build a large, diverse database that captures genomic as well as environmental, lifestyle, and other phenotypic data from 1 million participants that is accessible for use by investigators across disciplines. Nurse scientists are well-positioned to harness this rich resource and incorporate All of Us data into rigorous research studies that inform an evidence-based, precision health approach to promote wellness and manage disease across populations and the lifespan. This interactive Workshop will combine demonstrations of data interrogation by All of Us users with discussions of study design, data analysis, and interprofessional collaborations, in addition to strategies for addressing challenges that are encountered. Return of health-related DNA results to All of Us participants with genetic counseling support, including the implications for navigating health-related risks and next steps for integration into care by participants and clinicians, will also be discussed. The Workshop will conclude with a presentation capturing the experience and perspectives of a predoctoral trainee, followed by a moderated dialogue intended to help guide trainees and early investigators who wish to incorporate All of Us data as they establish independent programs of research.
